The Homegrown Farm Tour Committee will award $500 – $1,000 Scholarships to Washington County graduating seniors or college students majoring in an Agriculture-related field. The amount of the scholarship depends on the quality of the scholarship essay and the number of applications.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to volunteer at the Farm Tour, August 29, 2026. For volunteer opportunities, contact FFA sponsor, Jim Reed at jimrwashcounty109@yahoo.com .
The scholarship winners will receive their awards at the Farm Tour Field Dinner to be held Saturday, August 29th at Fyre Lake Winery beginning at 5:30. Each winner will receive 2 complimentary tickets to the field dinner.
Applicants for the scholarship should submit a one or two-page document with the following information:
- Name, address, phone number, email address
- Age, High School attended and graduation date
- Have you been a Farm Tour volunteer? What year?
- Short biography
- College and Intended Degree
- Personal Goals
- Why Agri-business is important to you
- Why Agri-business is important to Washington County
